Dunkin Donuts Experience

The other day I came to a Dunkin Donuts in a new city. I met this wonderful girl who reminded me of myself. She was taking/accepting rudeness from her coworkers. Silently holding on to her inner emotional state. I decided, in that moment, I wanted to do something special for her. I wanted to get her something she wanted and introduce her to others who may help her. Help with her creative pursuits. She was so sweet to let me stay, eat, and watch how others were treating her. Before I left, I wrote her a few notes giving her positive motivation. Letting her know I wanted to brighten her day.

I was asked to leave by her coworker that was treating this girl poorly. It was 8:30am and this coworker told me to leave in 30 minutes. Around 8:47am she said her manager said I should leave. She said she was the manager when I asked to speak to the manager. Her manager came in a few moments later. I didn't want to make a big commotion so I left at 9am when she originally asked me to. I wrote down that I would be back when she got off work.

I explored the city and came back to meet her. I am a girl of her word and I wanted to still help. I came back and waited outside. She wasn't off yet. I went to get food quickly. When I came back, she was gone. So I came in and asked where she was. Another male coworker said she called her and that she would meet us outside. We walked out and he locked the door. Locking me out.

I came back a little later since they can't locked the door forever during work hours. I came in and spoke up for myself. Even though they wanted police to come, they didn't stick to their word.  So I asked if the police could come because I know I didn't do anything wrong. I waited around an hour. When they came, I spoke up. I explained I wanted to help this girl because she was experiencing horrible treatment at work. That I was no threat and to explain how the coworkers were treating me. He heard me out while I was recording everything. He took me to the library. I explained my story in the car and how I am an advocate for people who go through what I have went through. What this girl and I have went through.

I successfully got to the library and it motivated me to continue sharing my experiences. Here, in person, and ultimately everywhere!
